Israel claim European Division 3 championship title
Israel claimed the European Division Three Championship title after a dramatic last day in Spain when the hosts collapsed to a 100-run defeat to the Isle of Man.

A Spain victory at Sporting Alfas would have given them the championship but, after bowling out the Isle of Man for 211, it was itself dismissed to 111 in 28.3 overs. The Isle of Man victory denied the hosts the chance of promotion to Division Two but the margin was not big enough to promote the winners to first place.

Israel, Portugal and Spain were level on six points each before the day's play. Israel beat Portugal by five wickets in less than 18 overs to claim a superior run-rate over Isle of Man as well as the Championship title.

In the other game of the day, Malta was relegated from Division Three for the first time when it lost to Belgium on the last day of the championship.

Israel now goes forward to meet Croatia in the play-off game to determine who is promoted to Division Two in 2011.
