Zimbabwe XI tightens its grip

Zimbabwe XI extended its lead over the Netherlands by 191 runs on the second day of the ICC Intercontinental Cup match played at VRA, Amstelveen on Monday.
The visitors dismissed the Dutch batsmen for 186 all out in the 76th over with Matsai Mushangwe taking 3-47 and Ed Rainsford, Timycen Maruma and Nathan Waller picking two each. Wicketkeeper Wesley Barresi was the top scorer for his side with a patient 81.
In reply, opener Stuart Matsikenyeri scored an unbeaten 44 to help lift his side to 79-2 in 23 overs, and extend Zimbabwe's lead from its previous day total of 298.
Netherlands is currently fifth in the ICC Intercontinental Cup points table with 15 points from four games - losing to Afghanistan by one wicket, Kenya by five wickets and Scotland by four wickets, and a drawn match against Canada. Zimbabwe XI is placed fourth in the points table with 23 points from two games which includes a five-wicket win over Kenya and a drawn match against Afghanistan.
