The inaugural Twenty20 competition for Dutch women's league teams is now underway.
Group matches started on Saturday July 24 with the 10 sides split into three regional sections.
Out of those groups will come four qualifiers for Finals Day, to be held at Quick 1888's ground in Nijmegen on Saturday September 4.
This first tournament will have its prizes sponsored by Still Going Strong Cricket Club, a veterans' team that has supported women's cricket for many years.
Members of the Netherlands women's squad will be unable to play a large part in the first competition, due to their international commitments – in both the ECB LV=County Championship Division 4 and the European Championship in Scotland (August 9-13).
The aim is for next year's event to be scheduled to allow the leading Dutch women to participate, with scope to also bring a major sponsor on-board.
