George Dockrell put in another inspired bowling performance to help Ireland reach a dominant position against the Netherlands on the opening day of the ICC Intercontinental Cup clash in Dublin.
Dockrell took 4-36 as the Netherlands were bowled out for 188 all out, suffering two dramatic batting collapses during the course of the innings. It went from 82-1 to 100-5 and after a mini-recovery it then went on to lose its last four wickets for just six runs.
Off spinner Albert van der Merwe was also in good form, capturing three wickets, while Trent Johnston picked up two victims.
Both Irish openers fell early on, before Kevin O'Brien (38 not out) and Alex Cusack (36 not out) helped Ireland reach 88-2 at the close.
