Ryan ten Doeschate gets a chance to play in both Australia and New Zealand
Netherlands all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate has been signed up by New Zealand domestic side Canterbury Wizards to play in the 2010-11 twenty20 season.
For ten Doeschate this is another opportunity to build-up for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The Dutch all-rounder had earlier been signed up by Australian state side Tasmania for the domestic twenty20 season there.
"Ryan is not a name signing as such, but he is a player Bob Carter [Canterbury's coach] identified early on who had the skill set we are looking for," Canterbury's chief executive Lee Germon was quoted as saying.
Both Canterbury and Tasmania have worked out an arrangement whereby ten Doeschate can play for both teams in the upcoming season, informed Germon.
Ten Doeschate is a medium-paced all-rounder who also plays for English county side Essex and has had fair amount of success in the twenty20 format.
