A brilliant unbeaten innings from Sean Williams left Zimbabwe XI's game against Ireland in the ICC Intercontinental Cup in the balance at the end of the second day's play in Harare on Tuesday.
Ireland extended its overnight total to 465 all out, although Andrew White (102) fell early on shortly after making his century.
John Mooney made a vital contribution, with an excellent 87 off 165 balls, adding 75 for the ninth wicket with George Dockrell who made 30 not out.
In reply, Stuart Matsikenyeri was dismissed for just 2, before Steve Marillier (47) and Sean Williams added 100 for the second wicket.
Marillier and Vusi Sibanda then fell close together, before Williams (88 not out) and Keith Dabengwa (75 not out) guided Zimbabwe XI to 175-3 at the close.
