Netherlands duo Ryan ten Doeschate and Atse Buurman took time out from their ICC Cricket World Cup training schedule to meet with hundreds of excited young pupils at a school supported by the ICC's social partner, Room to Read.

The players spent time in the reading room of the Nagar Municipal Corporation School in Delhi where the youngsters demonstrated their reading ability and entertained the players with singing and dancing. The Dutchmen discussed their favourite books and, of course, favourite cricketers, with the children before sharing some cricket tips in the school yard.

"It was an inspiring experience and it was very impressive to see the work being done by Room to Read to help this community," said ten Doeschate who added that reading is his main means of relaxation when on tour.

ICC has pledged to support a new reading room in Delhi as part of the legacy of the ICC Cricket World Cup. In addition, the 'Boundaries for Books' campaign, supported by Reliance Life Insurance, is donating Indian Rs 25,000 for every six hit during the CWC to Room to Read.

Leading cricketers are also encouraging members of the public to donate with further information available at www.roomtoread.org/worldcup.
