Chris Corlett reached 93 and Mike Gatting was the second highest scorer with 44. In a close finish, MCC managed to bowl out the Cypriots for 193 on the second to last ball of the 40th over.
On Sunday at Happy Valley Ground in Episkopi the MCC side triumphed once again beating a Cyprus Island XI by 30 runs. The visitors made 169-9 from 40 overs, to which Richard Holdsworth contributed a highest score of 58 off 64 balls and Chris Salmons added 47. The islanders were all out for 139, MCC’s Johny Hughes picked up excellent bowing figures of 6-24.
