Second day washed out

Wed, Jul 4, 2007 4:14 PM

For the second day in a row the match has had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. After the heavy rain yesterday which caused the Scotland v Netherlands match to be cancelled New Anniesland the venue for today’s match was inspected and found to be unplayable due to the ground being flooded.

Arrangements were made to transfer the math to Glenpark home of Greenock Cricket Club as they had missed the rain which had hit Glasgow.

Unfortunately early in the evening the town was hit by a flash flood rendering the ground unplayable. Efforts to find another pitch proved unsuccessful and the match has been abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The final match is due tomorrow when hosts Scotland are due to meet Ireland at Meikleriggs in what if the games goes ahead should be a title decider.
