Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) is giving an opportunity to young and talented cricketers to secure places in its squad for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5 event in Nepal in February 2010.
The squad has started its fitness programme for the six-nation tournament under coach Craig Hogan, who is keen to source youngsters into the team and is true to his word as six under-18s and seven under-23s are now in the running for Nepal.
Speaking to the Jersey Evening Post, Hogan said: "We have the usual group of older players and those coming in are part of our training development squad and they all have a chance of making the squad for Nepal. This is the path we are now taking and those that don't go will continue to be looked at and I'm sure many of them will be pushing for first-team places next year."
