Preston Mommsen after scoring a century for Scotland against Namibia
Preston Mommsen's knock of 102 off 197 balls put Scotland in charge of the ICC Intercontinental Cup match against host Namibia at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek on Sunday.
Scotland was placed comfortably at 260 for 4 in 81 overs, with an overall lead of 347 runs. Namibia was bowled out for 263 in 86.1 overs to hand Scotland a lead of 87 runs.
After beginning at its overnight score of 230 for six, Namibia was bowled out pretty cheaply thanks to Majid Haq's brilliant spell of 6-32.
In its second innings, Scotland lost first innings centurion Ryan Flannigan pretty early. But Majid (59: 104b, 9x4) and Preston Mommsen (102: 197b, 12x4) revived the innings with a 102-run second wicket partnership.
Thereafter Mommsen and Kyle Coetzer (56: 120b, 5x4, 1x6) added a further 103 runs for the third wicket to give the visitors complete control.
When stumps were finally drawn for the day, Scotland had gained total control with just one day to go in the fixture.
