The Board of the KNCB are delighted to announce that Richard Cox is to be appointed to the position of Chief Executive.

The appointment has been preceded by an extensive search and recruitment process due to the recent successes of the Netherlands in world cricket. Cox who previously held the post of Director of Cricket/ Academy Director for the Warwickshire Cricket Board and County Cricket Club enters the post with 20 years of experience at all levels of the game in the UK including a recent period at the elite academic and sports environment of Bromsgrove School.

In addition to his Warwickshire experiences Cox has also been extensively involved with ECB, ICC and MCC over that period in a number of capacities as an administrator and an Elite Level 4 Coach.

Commenting on the appointment Chairman Marc Asselbergs said "The experience of Richard Cox links extremely well with the current ambitions of cricket in the Netherlands at the top level and also his knowledge to strengthen and broaden the base of the game domestically."

Richard Cox said "With the advent of the Netherlands men?s team being in the ECB 40-League competition in 2010 and also the various ICC Tournaments over the next few years this is an exciting and challenging time to be assuming such a responsible position.

Both the Men?s and the Women?s teams have important phases of their development to tackle in ECB competitions and with ICC. I am thoroughly looking forward to the role and to working with everyone involved in Dutch Cricket both domestically and internationally. In particular a key area will be working with the clubs and the KNCB development team to sustain the game at all levels."

Cox will commence his role on December 1st in Dubai at a meeting with all his counterparts in the High Performance Countries.

Commenting on the appointment, ICC Regional Development Manager Richard Holdsworth said "Richard brings a wealth of skills and experience in management, cricket administration, commercial and development of the game, and will be a great resource of leadership to Dutch Cricket". "He has a huge background in grassroots and club cricket, as well as the higher levels of elite cricket and holds a highly esteemed ECB Level 4 coaching award, both of which will help him develop the game further in the Netherlands".
