Ireland all-rounder Kevin O'Brien has been shortlisted for the RTÉ Sports Person of the Year for 2011.
O'Brien joins a strong group of nine finalists including golfers Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke as well as footballer Robbie Keane.

O'Brien followed that up with a 44-ball hundred for Gloucestershire against Middlesex in June in the Twenty20 Cup to help his side to the highest total in the tournament of 254-3.
The Irish television station has also named the Irish cricket team in their shortlist for Sports Team of the Year.
The winners will be revealed at The RTÉ Sports Awards in association with The Irish Sports Council which will be broadcast live on RTÉ One and www.rte.ie/sport
