Dockrell, van der Merwe spin Ireland to win

Ireland snatched a 10-run win over Kenya inside two days in an exciting finish to the ICC Intercontinental Cup match in Mombasa on Monday.
Ireland was bowled out for 152 in its second innings and that left Kenya with a target of 119 to chase. Kenya was bowled out for 108.
Spinner Albert van der Merwe ended with a match haul of 11-68 including six in the second innings. George Dockrell ended the game with 9-87 capping off Ireland’s memorable win.
Earlier Ireland began at the overnight score of 81-2 with Joyce starting off on 51. However Ireland lost wickets at regular intervals with Joyce being dismissed for 54, Andrew White (26) was the only other top scorer. Varaiya ended with match haul of 12 for 73.
Kenya in its chase slipped from 23-3 to 36-8. But tail-enders Nelson Odhiambo and Varaiya added 68 runs for the ninth wicket.
But van der Merwe struck to remove Odhiambo for 32. Number 11 Shem Ngoche added a further 13 runs with Varaiya but it was not long before Ireland wrapped up a narrow win.
Ireland currently leads the ICC Intercontinental Cup table.
