Ed Joyce starred in Ireland's 117-run win over host Kenya in the second One-Day International of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship at Mombasa on Monday.
Batting first, Ireland was restricted to 237-9 in its 50 overs and in its reply Kenya was bowled out of 120 in 35.1 overs.
Joyce (88: 125b, 5x4, 3x6) held the innings together with his effort for Ireland. There was no other major contribution to the total.
Hiren Varaiya (3-46) was the best bowler on view for Kenya. Shem Ngoche (2-49) was the other successful bowler for Kenya.
In its chase Kenya lost wickets at regular intervals and slipped to 74-7. Thereafter a 40-run stand for the eighth wicket between Nehemiah Odhiambo and Shem Ngoche delayed the inevitable.
Finally, Kenya was bowled out for 120.
For Ireland, Trent Johnston (2-14), Alex Cusack (2-13), Paul Stirling (2-32) and George Dockrell (2-18) were the key wicket-takers.
