Austrian Cricket increases Women's Participation
Austrian cricket increase of women participation has focused around the coaching of girls in schools which saw another team getting formed outside of Vienna in 2011. The year 2012 sees the level of the talented girls good enough for them to participate in Austrian Indoor Cricket Tournament.

The Seebacher High School girls’ team is coached by sports teacher, Mrs. Judith Mayer, whose innovative coaching method of concentrated 2-month training blocks certainly motivated the girls who produced a spirited performance in the exhibition match. Judith Mayer was ably supported by German national women`s team captain, Steffi Frohnmayer, now a student at Graz University, and by ACA Chairman and founder of AVL cricket club, Naresh Laddha.

The indoor tournament is very popular amongst the cricketers in Austria as the only national winter cricket event, organised by AVL Graz cricket club and supported by the Austrian Cricket Association.

The AVL Cricket Club, whose structure is unique, in that it is a sports club attached to a company’s employee welfare sports union. AVL is the largest privately owned Automotive Company headquartered in Graz and the Chairperson of the sports union and wife of the CEO, Mrs. Kathrin List takes personal interest in cricket.
