The Guernsey Squad to defend the Marlborough Inter Insular Trophy has been confirmed after the late withdrawal of Jeremy Frith through illness.
The squad is:
Stu Le Prevost (capt)
James Gale, Max Ellis and Adam Martel are all in line to make their debut in the annual game against the red caps.
Guernsey have won the last three matches and will be looking to extend this sequence to four games next Saturday in Jersey.
After the late loss of Jeremy Frith, who’s past record in the Inter Insular is fantastic Guernsey will be looking to the remaining Squad to fire on the day and keep the Trophy in Guernsey.
GCB Chief Executive Mark Latter commented, “depsite our recent travels around the world to play ICC WCL cricket this game always looms large on the calendar and like any year we will be desparate to win it again. Losing Frithy is a big blow obviously but someone else will have to put their hand up and deliver. Since Singapore this has been a relatively quiet year for the Squad but we have a chance to make a big noise on Saturday and I am sure we are up to that!”
The match is being played at Grainville in Jersey on Saturday 1st September starting at 11.00am. Updates on the game will be available via Twitter @guernseycricket
