Netherlands chase 320 for a win on final day
Namibian batsman Stephan Baard glances the ball against Netherlands
Namibia set Netherlands a victory target of 320 runs after scoring 336 all out in their second innings at stumps on the third day of their ICC Intercontinental Cup match pm Saturday.

Namibia lost their first two wickets for 56 runs with Pikky Ya France out for 11 and Xander Pitchers for 25, but Stephan Baard and Craig Williams put Namibia in the driving seat with a 128-run partnership for the third wicket.

Williams was run out for 65 off 76 balls after a fine piece of fielding by Tim Gruiters.

Baard seemed to be heading to his maiden first class century before he was out shortly before tea, caught on the boundary for 85 off 141 balls, which included nine fours and two sixes.

Netherlands struck back to dismiss Sarel Burger cheaply for 4, but Raymond van Schoor and Nicolaas Scholtz added a quick partnership of 65 runs for the sixth wicket.

Van Schoor was bowled by Van Bunge for 35 off 47 balls, while Scholtz scored 34 off 46 balls.

Their were further contributions down the order as Christi Viljoen scored 16, Bernard Scholtz 21, and Louis Klazinga 22 before Namibia were all out for 336.

Timm van der Gugten was Holland’s best bowler, taking 3/53 off 18 overs, while Malik Jamil and Timm Cooper each took two wickets.

The stage is now set for an enthralling final day’s cricket with Holland needing 320 runs for victory and Namibia 10 wickets.
