Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) looked back on the summer and the outstanding hosting of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 6.
The facilities were of an extremely high standard for such an event this included grounds and the tournament hotel, Hotel de France which was in an ideal location. Transportation was extremely efficient and very highly rated thanks to Tantivy Blue Coach.
Match day catering was one of the highlights of the event. Home cooked meals provided by the superb family business, The Good Food Fairies meals were always fresh and ready on time.
The grounds in Jersey, without exception, are some of the best in the Associate cricket world and were outstanding for Division 6. All the pitches and outfields rated very highly indeed with the outfield at the FB Playing Fields considered one of the best in Associate cricket, even when some of the bad weather came in.
Doug Ferguson, Tournament organiser, ran the event very well and the JCB assistants including venue managers and assistants, Duckworth Lewis managers and Liaison officers did a great job and rated very highly. Local media manager, Joe Mayes, conducted himself professionally and was of great assistance to the Tournament Director.
‘The WCL Division 6 event in Jersey was a great success and everyone associated with it and particularly the JCB should be delighted with their efforts. JCB and Jersey have established themselves as one of the top destinations for Global events and have built on their excellent reputation after hosting WCL and Regional events in recent years’, said Chris Minty.
