Mon, Jul 14, 2014 9:41 AM
The ICC Europe Performance Development Regional Player and Coach Camp takes place between July 13-18 at Mikkelberg Cricket Club in Denmark. Participants will be from Denmark, Italy and Germany.
The programme is designed to help identify and select the most talented young cricketers in Europe at this age group and develop them through excellent coaching and support services in order for them to achieve their potential. This is to help produce national team cricketers at age group level rather than cricketers who play for their country.
The coaching staff for the camp are Nigel Jones and Lars Hedegaard Andersen. Jones is currently a Cricket Development Officer for Cricket Ireland. He is actively coaching and supporting the next generation of Irish Cricketers. He has attended the ICC Europe Academy in India and is also completing the ECB Performance Level 3 Course.
Lars Hedegaard Andersen is a former Danish cricketer, Hedegaard was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. Lars is currently a full time Development Officer working with the Dansk Cricket Forbund. He has coached on the ICC Europe Centre of Excellence and co-delivered last year’s Camp at Husum.
The different aspects that the camp will address are:
-Fitness and Fielding Training
- Video analysis for players
-Match situations for Twenty20 and 50-over cricket
-Player led training sessions
-Skills sets for batting and bowling
-Tactics and game awareness
-One-on-one sessions are available
-Leadership and team building
