Scotland’s cricketers have landed in the UAE as their ICC Cricket World Cup preparation enters its final phase, with a series of matches against Afghanistan and Ireland.
Scotland will play four ODI’s in 12 days against their associate rivals, in a mixture of two day matches and two day/night encounters in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The squad will spend the next few days training at the ICC Academy before their first encounter with Afghanistan on Thursday (8th January).
Scotland’s Head Coach Grant Bradburn said on arrival in the UAE, “This series is obviously an important tour for us to gain valuable match time as we build towards February. The last few months have allowed the squad to hone our skills, whilst building a strong team environment.
It’s going to be a great opportunity to test ourselves against Ireland and Afghanistan, I know the guys are itching to get out on the park.”
The final squad of 15 for the Cricket World Cup will be announced later this week.
