Scotland’s selectors today announced their squad three day fixture against the United Arab Emirates at the Ageas Bowl in Hampshire on Monday for a three day game (25-27 May).
Preston Mommsen will lead a side mixed with youth and experience at the Ageas Bowl, as his team prepare for an important ICC Intercontinental Cup fixture against Afghanistan (2-5 June) in Stirling.
Top order batsman Andrew Umeed is included in the squad of 12 along with promising spinner, Mark Watt, after both players have excelled at U19 level.
There will also be an opportunity for Con de Lange to push his cause for a Scotland cap, after becoming eligible to play after completing a four year residency.
On the announcement of the squad Grant Bradburn said, “It's fantastic to have the opportunity to play at the Ageas Bowl against our Associate rivals UAE as we build towards our first I-Cup fixture.
A number of players have commanded their opportunity through strong performances in both club and Pro Series early season.
He added, “We have important international fixtures in all three formats of the game over the coming months and we have witnessed healthy competition for places in our first Scotland selection following the World Cup. Our players will relish the chance to come together to fine tune our red balls skills at a test venue of such quality.”
This match will be a non-capped fixture.
