Scotland batsman Qasim Sheikh has been rewarded by selectors for his superb century in the recently-drawn ICC Intercontinental Cup game against Ireland, by being included in the final ODI against the same side in Aberdeen.
Sheikh scored an unbeaten hundred in the first innings of the four-day match and his inclusion will give Head Coach Peter Steindl and skipper Gavin Hamilton different options in deciding the batting line-up. Dewald Nel also returns to the squad after recovering from a finger injury suffered during the ICC World Twenty20 2009 in June.
Speaking to Cricket Scotland website, Peter Steindl said: "Qasim fully deserves his call-up after his outstanding knock last week, and Dewald returning is a major boost after his lengthy lay-off. We hope to build on the many positives we have taken out of the recent ICC Intercontinental Cup game as we continue to develop our side."
The full squad list is as follows: Gavin Hamilton (captain), Fraser Watts, Ryan Watson, Qasim Sheikh, Navdeep Poonia, Neil McCallum, Richie Berrington, Marc Petrie, Majid Haq, Gordon Drummond, Ross Lyons, Gordon Goudie and Dewald Nel
